Razan Takash is an award-winning Jordanian writer, director, and producer based in Dubai, UAE. She has worked in the Middle East’s film and production industry since 2010 and has been teaching film and television production in higher education since 2018. Her work spans from intimate indie films to regional television productions, as well as major Hollywood productions including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Zero dark 30.
Holding a Master of Fine Arts from the Red Sea Institute for Cinematic Arts, Razan has directed and produced multiple award-winning short films, including M1das and IDI, the latter earning her a nomination for Best Female Producer at the Toronto International Women Film Festival. Her acclaimed projects include the 48Hour Film Project 1st Place winner Shah Mat (2016) and a Mary Shelley Award nomination at the 2020 Other Worlds Austin Film Festival. Her sci-fi short M1das screened at over 24 international festivals and was a finalist at the Burbank International film festival. It went on to win 14 awards including Best director and Best Short,. She recently completed Karayr, a big budget post-apocalyptic Arabic short film that she wrote and produced which was curated in the Market Catalogue and Rendez-vous Industry during the Festival de Cannes 2025.
Currently, she headlines Razz Reviews, her popular movie review channel, and serves as the Head of Film at SAE University College, shaping the next generation of filmmakers.
